Creating the Best Year of Your Life

Do you feel completely unsatisfied at the end of each year, wishing you set goals, acted on them, and went into the new year excited for what’s ahead? The thing is, we can’t just tell ourselves we’re going to achieve something and expect it to happen. We need to make it real and develop a plan. Now’s a good time to do just that and to help you out, I have some great questions for you to consider.

You can review these questions once a year, once a month, or whenever you're looking for some direction in your life. I suggest you reflect at least quarterly so that you can consciously create the life of your dreams. Let’s end the year powerfully and plan 2023 from a clean slate!

A look back at 2022:

  1. What do you want to be acknowledged for?

  2. What did you accomplish?

  3. What did you want to accomplish that you did not accomplish? (Do you still want to do this?)

  4. What were your biggest disappointments?

  5. What did you learn? - List 3 lessons that will make the most difference if you remember them this year.

Looking ahead:

  1. What are your personal values? What is most important to you in your life? What drives you?

  2. What roles do you play in your life? Rate each role on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the most important.

  3. What are your goals for each role?

  4. Where is your life out of balance? If you could put one problem behind you, once and for all, what would it be?

  5. Which role is your major focus for next year? (In what role do you want a breakthrough performance?)

After reflecting on these questions, you should be able to answer: What do I want to accomplish and whom do I want to be in the coming year? Then, you need to decide what milestones you should be hitting along the way and whom you can reach out to for support so that you can make your dreams a reality.

Isn’t it about time you have the best year of your life?
